Named by early settlers because of its milky sap, this plant is considered by many to be a noxious weed.
This particular milkweed plant is just ready to flower.
The Milkweed plant is the life blood of the Monarch Butterfly. Without this wildflower, Monarchs would be unable to complete their lifecycle and would soon become extinct.
