A garden escape sometimes called Veitch’s Blue
Globe Thistle. It is not identified as a wildflower in any wild flower
book. It is a domestic plant highly favoured by those who dry flowers for
ornamental use. This plant has spiney edged leaves and, as is quite evident,
a bluish cast to the flower heads.
I originally mis-identified it as a Rattlesnake
Masters and was corrected by Charles Kinsley who runs a website at www.nativeplants.ca
My thanks to Charles.
