Blue Flag - Iris prismatica
A member of the Iris family,
this particular flower loves wet, boggy or swampy areas. It is partial
to wet areas which also receive full sun and actually favours being partly
submerged. Colour differences are usually a result of different genetic
makeup but can also be attributed to the mineral content and the
PH balance of the soil.
This picture was taken at Presquile
Provincial Park near Brighton.
